Design Best Practices for Digital Screens
Presenting on large HD electronic displays requires different typographical and chromatic considerations than offset paper printing.
Typography & Legibility
Ensure high visual hierarchy. Main headlines should be legible from 2–3 meters away (min. 48pt). Body text should remain above 20pt. Opt for robust sans-serif typefaces like Inter or Manrope.
High-Contrast Figures
Use clean color with strong contrast ratios. Avois extremely dark saturated backgrounds across the entire canvas; light backgrounds with deep navy or charcoal text provide optimal contrast under congress hall lighting.
Avoid Small Raster Graphics
Export graphs and figures at high DPI (min. 300 DPI at 1:1 screen resolution). Avoid screenshotting microscopic tables or pasting low-res JPEG figures that artifact when enlarged.
